Valentine’s Day may be over and done for this year, but Polka Dot Orchard is still celebrating with our Love & Friendship Inspiration Blog Hop. The creative team has amazing creations to share with you featuring some of our newest releases! We have two $10 gift cards for two lucky winners chosen randomly from the comments. You have until February 24th, 11:59pm EST to leave a comment on each of the blogs, including the Polka Dot Orchard blog letting us know that you completed the hop. We will announce the lucky winners on February 26th on the Polka Dot Orchard blog.
I’m so excited to be part of my very first Blog Hop. I could ‘Hop’ about all day!!!! Hee hee, I couldn’t resist.
No With our theme being Love and Friendship I chose to use the stamp set Love Grows Here from Polka Dot Orchard. I love succulents and when I saw the succulent heart garden I knew I had to get creative with it.
I printed this stamp onto Neenah Solar Crest White Card and coloured in with my Promarkers. I used
Holly, forest green, apple and blender pen
Aubergine, fuchsia pink, bluebell, lilac and lavender
Holly, moss, pear green and khaki
Grey Green and pastel beige
Lime and pear green
Plum, purple and bluebell
Lush green, emerald and meadow green
I thought I should make a card for all the loving Mom’s out there since the theme was Love. The Sentiment was taken from the same stamp set. I diecut the heart and inked around it using Distress Oxide ‘seedless preserves’.
For my background, I printed off Flourish Floral Background 3 Black Line only version from Polka Dot Orchard onto white cardstock, then I blended Distress Oxide ‘seedless preserves’ and ‘shaded lilac’ using a blender brush. Then sprinkled with some water and dabbed with a paper towel so that I didn’t get my paper too wet. Set aside to dry then cut down to size 19cm x 13cm.
I then took some black cardstock and cut down to size 20cm x 14cm
Adhered double sided tape to the backs of the card and positioned on my card base which measures 21cm x 15cm.
I fussy cut out the succulent heart shape and stuck 3D double sided foam tape to the back and positioned onto my card. I also put foam tape onto back of my sentiment to give it some dimension. I then finished my card off with some lovely colourful sequins.
Here is my completed card, perfect for any mum 🥰💖
Now onto the Hop…..
Next it’s Polka Dot Orchard
