Polka Dot Orchard Collaboration Wednesday with Kristina Hein

Hello and welcome to my collaboration with fellow Creative Team Member Kristina Hein, we had planned to work together before I joined the team so I was delighted to be able to still collaborate with her.

We are working with this delicious stamp set called Cake For Me from Polka Dot Orchard and Illustrated by Jeanie Hays.
We chose this design layout for our project from Freshly Made Sketches Number 22.
This is the colour scheme that we chose. Pink, Aqua, Lavender & Mint from Color Throwdown Number: 548.

I love pastel colours and thought it would be a great colour scheme for our cards.

Now onto my card…

I printed the cake and sentiment onto Neenah Solar White Crest Card and coloured in with my Promarkers.

Colours used ~

Icing ~ Mint Green, Pastel Green & Blender Pen
Sprinkles ~ Carmine, Magenta, Hot Pink, Maroon, Rose Pink, Prussian, Emerald Green, Azure & Blender Pen
Cake ~ Carmine, Rose Pink, Pale Pink & Blender Pen
Plate ~ Cool Aqua & Blender Pen.

I used my blender pen to dilute some of the colour from the cake and plate. The pen removes the alcohol from the ink creating lighter areas.

You can find many videos on YouTube from different artists and bloggers showing you how to use your blender pens.

To assemble this card. I chose a light green paper from a paper pack called Love Letters from First Edition Paper. I used this as my background piece.

The floral side panels were also from the Love Letters Paper Pack.

I used Black Card Stock for the back of my panels. I used double sided tape to adhere to my card. I finished off my card with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Calming Aqua.

Here is my finished card….

This sentiment also comes in this set. It can be used as part of card front or inside your card as I have done here. The word Birthday was coloured with Promarker in Cool Aqua.

Choosing papers to go alongside your digital stamps is fun and also gives you lots of variety and styles. What type of card would you make with this stampset?

At time of writing this blog this stampset was on sale. What are you waiting on, hop on over to Polka Dot Orchard and snap up this set, once you have finished your projects please share them on our Friends of Polka Dot Orchard Facebook Page, we love seeing your creations 💕
