Hi friends, I wanted to share a technique that I have just came across, while chatting to some crafting friends over on the Creative Team. I’ve never thought of trying this before and I’m so happy with the results.
To make my card I got out my gelli plate and brayer, used Acrylic Paints in Oranges, yellow and Mixing White. I love adding texture to my prints so got out some bubble wrap and dabbed some texture using the mixing white. Pulled my print on Sheena Douglas Stamping Card 300gsm. There is lots of videos on YouTube showing how to use a gelli plate.
I set aside to dry and once completely dry I popped my print into my inkjet printer face down and printed Background 4 of Honeycomb Backgrounds onto my white card. Then I layered onto black cardstock and mounted onto 5”x7” Kraft card base.
I printed off the scene from Sweet Like Honey and coloured in with my Promarkers using
Ice Grey 5,3,1
I had printed off the scene twice so I could fussy cut them both and layer ontop each other. Then put some foam tape on the back to add dimension to all the bees and the honeycomb. I printed off the sentiment and used the stencil designed by Angie Blom (BeeCandy) to create honeycombs over my sentiment. I blended Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed Distress Ink. Layered onto black card and added foam tape to adhere.
Here’s my completed card. What do you think. I’m in love with the fact I can now make my own prints then run them through my printer 🥰❤️
That’s all from me today. I would love to know your comments. Thanks for stopping by and take care ❤️. Kirsty
Hi friends, today I have been able to play with the new stamp set range which has been designed by Lea Ingle Keisling. I am so excited with their new range as I was able to make 3 different cards in one day.
There are more of these Say It Slim stamp sets coming out very soon and I can’t wait to see what’s coming. These sets make excellent cards with lots of usability. Here are the cards that I’ve made today.
For the bottom two cards, I printed the stamp onto vellum. Created 2 backgrounds, one with balloons and the other with the bunting. Coloured in with all my blue shades of Promarker pens.
All these cards were simple to make and are suited for both male and female cards.
I hope you’ve got some inspiration from my projects today and I’d love to hear from you.
I used some glossy accents on the ghosts and love hearts and set them aside to dry. Fussy cut out the ghosts and adhered using foam tape. For my backing card I blended some of the same Ultraviolet Ink onto edges of my card using a blender brush. Here is my finished card –
Hi friends, today I’m sharing a card that I’ve made for a friend. She is getting a Shih Tzu Pup the same weekend that it’s her son’s birthday. She asked me to make a birthday card to give from “the pup” to her son. I looked through all my rubber and clear stamps looking for a Shih tzu stamp but to no avail, checked online too, there is lots of digital stamp shops out there and I couldn’t find a Shih Tzu stamp anywhere, So what could I do…..
I done a rough sketch of the outline of the dog, my friend sent me over a photo of her new pup then I coloured in with my Promarkers and coloured pencils.
The collar, biscuit, paws and fur baby love sentiment all come from a digital set from Graciellie Design called Fur Baby Love
The sentiment have a furry happy birthday and the small paw prints are from a cardmaking magazine and the stars stencil is from my stash.
I layered my card front onto Matt black card and adhered to my card base with double sided tape.
Thanks for stopping by. I would love to hear what you think of my card. Take care everyone.
I made this card a slimline card and I used Newton’s Nook Porthole Slimline Die. I used a circles stencil from my stash and I wanted to have same colour as my background cardstock so I decided to diecut my card using white cardstock then I used Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink in buttercup using a blender brush.
I used my Promarkers to colour ~ colours used ~ Poppy, Berry Red, Gold, Cool Grey 3, Tan, Caramel, Sandstone, Pink Carnation, Pale Pink & Blender Pen.
For the Sun Rays I used Spectrum Noir Metallic in Gold Plate
I used double sided tape to layer my Buttercup background onto base layer and foam tape for porthole front. Used a mixture of foam tape and glue for all my images. Fussy cut my sentiment.
Here is my completed card. Such an adorable set which can be humorous and great for kids too. Hope you all have a good, safe crafty day. Pop by soon.
There is a New Release over at Polka Dot Orchard and their First Ever Challenge!!! End of Summer Splash Challenge. I’m so excited for this and cannot wait to see everyone’s entries. This challenge runs from 7th-20th September and there is prize of a $10 gift card to spend at Polka Dot Orchard.
Here is my inspiration for this new digital set release. Isn’t it just so cute, I love popsicles, makes me think of sitting on a beach on a lovely hot day, relaxing watching the ocean. We haven’t had any visits to the beach yet this year however this set sure reminds me of those happy times. Why not pop on over and grab this set and get colouring.
Promarkers used ~ Poppy, Carmine, Burgundy, Mandarin, Bright Orange, Holly, Lime Green, Lime Zest, Gold, Tulip Yellow, Cerise, Indigo Blue, Prussian, Cool Aqua, Orchid, Tan & Sandstone. Also used White Posca Pen for highlights.
A great design that has been illustrated by Jeanie Hays, you really don’t need to do anything else to this card, just colour in, layer onto card base and presto it’s finished.
Hi friends, I have a quick post for you today, I’m loving these sock monkeys from the digital stamp set Monkey-Mail from Polka Dot Orchard aren’t they just the cutest.
I made this into a 6”x6” Card. Printed the sentiment and monkeys onto Neenah Solar Crest Card and coloured in with my Promarkers.
Fussy cut them out along with the sentiment. Layered up my card using paper from First Edition Paper “Love Letters” and white Card. Adhered together using double sided tape. Positioned my pieces in place and added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Metallic Soft Mint.
That’s my finished card, cool fun and quick to make. That’s it for me. Hope your all keeping safe and having a nice day.
Hi friends and Happy 4th July, today I am sharing a card made for someone whom loves America, it’s his 13th Birthday and is very keen to visit New York so when I saw the digital stampset Stand Up For America it was the perfect choice for my project. I loved seeing those baseball boots and reminded me of my younger years. I loved nothing more than wearing them.
As I was making an American themed card I wanted to go all out with stars and fireworks so I used these elements from the set America My Hero the sentiment (Life’s A Party) I took from the new set Birthday Monsters
Colours used (Promarkers) ~
Making this card was very simple and I love how you can very easily layer up your digital stamps. To start with I used the Non Fill Stars Stamp and then placed the baseball boots on top, at top of my page I added 4 fireworks then printed off onto Neenah Solar Crest Card.
For my backing paper and border I used Berry Red Promarker and coloured in on white card. Only coloured in what I needed. I matted up my card using double sided tape.
Coloured in the fireworks with silver pen and coloured pencils. Finished off with red glitter glue.
That’s my completed card. Thanks for spending time with me today. I look forward to reading your comments.
Hi friends and welcome back to my third and last instalment of my Father’s Day series with digi stamps from Polka Dot Orchard I am using one of their new releases “You Croc my World” for this project.
To make my card I printed off the Croc and two of the sentiments onto Neenah Solar Crest Card and coloured with my Promarker Pens. Colours used ~
Cool Grey 5
After colouring I got some tracing paper and traced around the Croc then cut out. This was to create a mask so that I could do some ink blending with a stencil from my stash (which I got from my local arts and craft store) I used a large blender brush with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass to create a pool effect on my card front.
Once I was happy with my Ink Blending I removed my mask and adhered this front to some black card and attached to a 6” x 6” card base using double sided tape. I then added some black diamanté’s from Papermania and that was the outside of my card complete.
I then wanted to insert a sentiment into the inside of the card as I was making a Father’s Day Card. I used the sentiment “Happy Fathers Day” from the digi set “Stand Up Guy”
I printed the sentiment onto copy paper and trimmed down to size, attached some double sided tape and now my card is complete.
Thanks very much for stopping by, I very much appreciate you spending some time with me. If you would like to read more of my blogs please subscribe and follow me for more inspiration and future blog hops
Hi friends, My project today is something a bit different for me and it took me out of my comfort zone. I was making a card for my 2 year old nephew and I wanted to create an ocean scene using one of Polka Dot Orchard new sets.
To create my ocean scene I got out my Gelli plate and acrylic paints. Here is my finished pieces
I printed the fish and sentiments onto Neenah Classic Crest Card and coloured in with my Arteza Real Brush Pens. Fussy cut everything out. I used Spellbinders Borderabilities Curved Borders Two diecut. I used Grand Calibur machine to cut out my newly created ocean waves and set to make my scene.
I used double sided tape to adhere my waves and mounted the fish onto foam tape so they were popping out. They were matted onto green cardstock then onto my card base. Sentiments were popped on by foam tape also. PVA glue for embellishments. Here is my completed card.
Thanks for stopping by today and this set is currently on sale (at time of this publication)
