Did you know you can use Inkjet Printer on Gelli Plate Prints!!!

Hi friends, I wanted to share a technique that I have just came across, while chatting to some crafting friends over on the Creative Team. I’ve never thought of trying this before and I’m so happy with the results.

To make my card I got out my gelli plate and brayer, used Acrylic Paints in Oranges, yellow and Mixing White. I love adding texture to my prints so got out some bubble wrap and dabbed some texture using the mixing white. Pulled my print on Sheena Douglas Stamping Card 300gsm. There is lots of videos on YouTube showing how to use a gelli plate.

I set aside to dry and once completely dry I popped my print into my inkjet printer face down and printed Background 4 of Honeycomb Backgrounds onto my white card. Then I layered onto black cardstock and mounted onto 5”x7” Kraft card base.

I printed off the scene from Sweet Like Honey and coloured in with my Promarkers using

  • Spice
  • Peach
  • Soft Peach
  • Black
  • Canary
  • Cinnamon
  • Raw Sienna
  • Ice Grey 5,3,1
  • Blender Pen

I had printed off the scene twice so I could fussy cut them both and layer ontop each other. Then put some foam tape on the back to add dimension to all the bees and the honeycomb. I printed off the sentiment and used the stencil designed by Angie Blom (BeeCandy) to create honeycombs over my sentiment. I blended Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed Distress Ink. Layered onto black card and added foam tape to adhere.

Here’s my completed card. What do you think. I’m in love with the fact I can now make my own prints then run them through my printer 🥰❤️

That’s all from me today. I would love to know your comments. Thanks for stopping by and take care ❤️. Kirsty

New Stencil Release-Polka Dot Orchard

You can click here to take you direct Dolly Doily

Hi friends and Happy Tuesday! I am so happy I have a couple of cards I’m sharing with the new stencil.

This card is so simple to make, I chose Memento Dye Inks in Morocco and Potter’s Clay. Blended with my blending brushes, layered onto gold card and Kraft card base. Added sentiment and sequins to embellish.

For this card I chose Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire, Evergreen Bough, Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves.

Thanks My Friend

I took the sentiments from the set Thanks My Friend for both cards.

For my last card I have used the Dolly Doily Stencil in a different way. I have used part of the Stencil to add pattern to my card.

Like A Sister

Flowers are my favourite to colour and I absolutely love this set. I used my Promarkers to colour – French Navy, Cyan, Arctic Blue, Sky Blue, Powder Blue, Aubergine, Violet, Lilac, Lush Green, Forest Green and Meadow Green.

For the stencil I used Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass. Layered onto burgundy card and added some sequins to finish.

I hope you all like my cards, I would love to know your comments and Polka Dot Orchard SALE is still on (at time of this publishing).

Happy crafting and keep safe my friends!

Check out the new Say-It-Slim stamps from Polka Dot Orchard

Hi friends, today I have been able to play with the new stamp set range which has been designed by Lea Ingle Keisling. I am so excited with their new range as I was able to make 3 different cards in one day.

The new set Oh Happy Day is released by Polka Dot Orchard and it’s part of the Birthday Sale with a massive 37% off.

There are more of these Say It Slim stamp sets coming out very soon and I can’t wait to see what’s coming. These sets make excellent cards with lots of usability. Here are the cards that I’ve made today.

For the bottom two cards, I printed the stamp onto vellum. Created 2 backgrounds, one with balloons and the other with the bunting. Coloured in with all my blue shades of Promarker pens.

All these cards were simple to make and are suited for both male and female cards.

I hope you’ve got some inspiration from my projects today and I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting

Birthday card featuring New Love stencil and Note to Self Stamp from Polka Dot Orchard

My card for today is made using the recent releases from Polka Dot Orchard The stencil With Love (square stencil) and stamp set Note To Self both pictured above.

Hi friends, what wet weather we are experiencing just now, it’s definitely perfect for spending time in our craft rooms. Today I have made a card using the Tone on Tone Technique with Stencil.

I printed off the stamp and sentiment onto Neenah Solar Crest Card and coloured in with Spectrum Noir Illustrators. Pens used, Black, Poppy, Coral, Deep Coral, Mimosa, Begonia, Tea Rose, Rose Blush, Cream, Emerald, Meadow, Brown Grey, 6,2 Blender Pen.

After colouring I fussy cut around the image and cut the sentiment out using my guillotine.

For my background, I used the With Love Stencil which was designed by Angie Blom. I got out my Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Razzleberry, Rubellite & Pink Diamond. I wanted to use the Tone on Tone Technique where I first create an ombré effect with my 3 colours, starting with the darkest to the lightest. Once I had finished this I then positioned my stencil in place with low tack masking tape then once again using my blender brushes I went over my background with the same colours following their blending and that creates the tone on tone effect.

Once dry I used my Wink of Stella glitter pen to some of the stencilled love hearts. Layered onto black card then onto my card base. Attached foam tape to my image and sentiment. Added some sequins to finish my card.

Loved colouring her in. This set is perfect for many occasions. Click on the links at top of my blog to take you direct to the stamp and stencil.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I would love to hear your comments.

Keep safe my friends and happy crafting

Give it some ‘Unicorn Dance Moves’

Hi friends, happy Sunday! Today is very wet here so it’s the perfect day for spending time crafting. I’m sharing such a cute and adorable card that I’ve made using Unicorn Dance Moves from Polka Dot Orchard

Just check out all those sentiments and that Unicorn doing the Dab! Perfect for making fun cards and great for kids cards. I’m making this for a 6 year old in mind.

I started by creating my background on my photo editor app and printing onto smooth white 300gsm card from Papermill Direct and colouring in with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens

Next I printed off the Unicorn, rainbow and 2 of the sentiments from the set ‘SPARKLE like a unicorn’ and ‘Unicorn DANCE moves’

Coloured in the unicorn and rainbow then fussy cut them inc the sentiments, added some shimmer by using the Wink of Stella.

Then I used the Slim Film City Dies from Mama Elephant, I used some bright pink card. The film die was used to cut 3 layers of white card and one bright pink card. Glued them all together for added dimension.

Layered my card together then adhered the unicorn, rainbow and sentiments with foam tape and this completes my card.

At time of publication this set is on sale, why not pop over to Polka Dot Orchard and grab some of those sets that you have been wanting.

That’s all for today, thanks for stopping by and keep safe everyone. Happy Crafting

For the Sun Rays I used Spectrum Noir Metallic in Gold Plate

Let’s celebrate the OLD SKOOL way

Hi friends, thanks for stopping by today. I wanted to share with you a new digital set from Polka Dot Orchard

Let’s Kick It Old Skool

This set takes me to my old skool days! Loved wearing converse or chucks as we would call them. I was always torn between my chucks and doc martins. Ah! The good ole days! So needless to say I loved creating with this set and the sentiments fit it perfectly.

This card was very simple to put together, print, colour and splashes of gouache to finish.

Promarkers used ~ canary, tulip yellow, henna, walnut, cinnamon, cocoa, petrol blue, denim blue, tea green, grey green, ice grey 5,3,1 cool grey 3 and blender pen.

I used gouache in cobalt blue and permanent white. Finally for some gold stitching I used spectrum noir Metallic Gold Plate Pen.

Next, I took the main shade of yellow (tulip yellow) that I used for the sneakers and coloured a thin border around the white cardstock. I layered it together with my card front and adhered onto a 5×7” card base.

That’s it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by, this set is on sale at the moment (at time of posting blog). We have a End of Summer Splash Challenge over on Friends of PDO Group.
