You’re The Best – New Release – Polka Dot Orchard

Hello and welcome. I’m so happy as Scotland is opening its shops today as lockdown is easing further. I’m glad as I can now meet friends and family now, even go out for a coffee. Very excited.

I’ve got a quick card to show you so let’s jump right in.

I printed the digital floral stamp and chose the sentiment I think of you often for my card and printed them both of onto same card. I used Papermill Direct Smooth White 300gsm cardstock.

Coloured in the floral image with Arteza Brush Pens in

  • Elephant Gray
  • Apricot
  • Honey
  • Cantaloupe
  • Lemon Yellow
  • Forest Green
  • Pine Green
  • Shamrock Green
  • Pale Green
First layer of colour going on.

I done 2 layers of colour to really make the flowers and colours stand out. Then I created a border of 4.5cm and masked off that line with masking tape so I could create a black background using Noir from Arteza Brush Pens.

Next I made another line of 6mm and covered in glue from a Glue Pen then poured Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter in Glitter Rose Gold over it, tapped off the excess and let it dry. Adhered to card base and my card is completed.

The black background really makes the card ‘POP’

I hope you like my card and it inspires you to get creative and inky.

Stay safe 🌈 and keep well 🌼 🌸

Hi friends, today I’m sharing a quick card made for all the coffee lovers out there (me included) with a fantastic digital set from Angie Blom Digital Designs called Brew-tiful Day

I matched this set up with the Tea/Coffee digital papers from Angie Blom Digital Designs I printed off my chosen papers on HP Glossy Photo Paper, chose the digital stamp with 4 printables on it and then trimmed my chosen stamp down to size. I’m making a 6”x6” card.

Coloured in with my Promarkers. I used Walnut, Henna, Umber, Spice, Peach, Soft Peach and Coral. I matted my card front onto marbled peach card stock.

Spectrum Noir Metallic Gold Nugget for added dot embellishments and some rose gold sequins to finish.

Adhered my card front with 3D foam tape for extra dimension.

Let’s celebrate the OLD SKOOL way

Hi friends, thanks for stopping by today. I wanted to share with you a new digital set from Polka Dot Orchard

Let’s Kick It Old Skool

This set takes me to my old skool days! Loved wearing converse or chucks as we would call them. I was always torn between my chucks and doc martins. Ah! The good ole days! So needless to say I loved creating with this set and the sentiments fit it perfectly.

This card was very simple to put together, print, colour and splashes of gouache to finish.

Promarkers used ~ canary, tulip yellow, henna, walnut, cinnamon, cocoa, petrol blue, denim blue, tea green, grey green, ice grey 5,3,1 cool grey 3 and blender pen.

I used gouache in cobalt blue and permanent white. Finally for some gold stitching I used spectrum noir Metallic Gold Plate Pen.

Next, I took the main shade of yellow (tulip yellow) that I used for the sneakers and coloured a thin border around the white cardstock. I layered it together with my card front and adhered onto a 5×7” card base.

That’s it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by, this set is on sale at the moment (at time of posting blog). We have a End of Summer Splash Challenge over on Friends of PDO Group. Click here to take you to the group https:// and join in, challenge ends on 20th September and there is a fantastic prize up for grabs.

Stay safe my friends and happy crafting!

I used Film City Slim die set from Mama Elephant to frame my card front and Plum background card. Adhered together with double sided tape. I used foam tape for my sentiment.

It runs from 21-28 August 2020

My first card for the IG Hop is using Remember Me from Polka Dot Orchard. I printed her off on Kraft Card and coloured in the suitcase with coloured pencils. I used Spellbinders Borderabilities Die to create my border. Cut my patterned paper down to size and attached double sided tape. I added some neutral coloured twine and adhered to Kraft card base. Added some 3D enamel effects from Dovecraft to complete my card.

My next card from Polka Dot Orchard using Better Late Than Never illustrated by the talented Washi Horse Designs, printed off onto Neenah Classic Crest Card and coloured in with my promarkers. Used a fun stencil with Versamark watermark ink and Wow Embossing Powder in Avocado. Adhered to green card stock then onto white card base and that completed my card.

For this slimline card I used Sunshine In My Life Girl by Angie Blom. I printed her off onto Neenah Classic Crest Card and coloured with my Promarkers. Next I used my craft blade and cut her diagonally. I used frame die from Mama Elephant ‘Slim City Film’ Die set. Used a floral embossing folder from Sizzix onto yellow card stock and matted altogether. Adhered to card base and finished with sequins.

For my last card from Angie Blom I used Better In Boots I loved all the sentiments in that set and wanted to use them all on the same card. Printed off onto Kraft Card and coloured in with my Arteza Real Brush Pens. Card was diecut using a frame from Card Making Magic by Christina Griffiths 5”x7” card and box set. Finished card using white Posca Pen.

Guest DT for Polka Dot Orchard – Wander Often

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog, I am so honoured to be a Guest Designer over at Polka Dot Orchard. I am working on a collaboration with Kristina Hein where I was to choose a stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard, a colour palette and sketch. I went with Wander Often, Freshly Made Sketches No 404 and Color Throwdown No 563.

We are both creating a card and I cannot wait to see Kristina’s version. Here is a link to her blog post –

I just loved the stunning digital stamp set ‘Wander Often’. In this set you receive the Koi fish with fanciful flowers. A koi fish on its own, seaweed and rocks and some lovely sentiments.

I resized the digital images on Wordpad and printed them onto smooth cardstock from Papermill Direct. Coloured in with my promarkers then I fussy cut the image out. A lot of colours used for my image –

  • Koi – mandarin, bright orange, orange, apricot, pumpkin, gold & cool grey 1
  • flowers – slate, aubergine, purple, lavender & lilac
  • centre of flower – amethyst, orchid, lilac & white gelly roll pen
  • leaves – forest green, meadow green & leaf green

I then cut white cardstock to 14cm x 20 cm, worked out the placement for my Oval, and diecut it using double stitch nesting ovals from Creative Expressions. I then used Pebble Embossing folder from Creative Expressions in my Grande Calibur machine. Used a glue pen and Nuvo Pure Sheen Diamond Glitter on pebbles of my choice. This was to add some lovely iridescent glitter.

Set aside to dry and then I got out my Crafters Companion white watercolour card, made a wet wash over card and used my Winsor & Newton watercolour pans to create a water scene. I used cerulean blue and emerald. I watered the colours down to ensure it was a very neutral shade. Once I was happy with my colours achieved I set aside to dry.

Once the glue and glitter had dried on my main card I adhered 3D mount tape to the back.

Once my water scene was dry I affixed double sided tape and adhered under my diecut oval shape. I then attached the card onto a side opening card base. I mounted 3D mount tape to back of Koi fish and adhered to my card. Cut the sentiment that I printed off and attached 3D mount tape and fixed it to my card.

That completes my card.

I hope you all enjoyed my blog post. I am so happy to be chosen as a Guest Designer for Polka Dot Orchard and I hope that you all like my card 🥰🎨

Thanks again to Kristina for this amazing opportunity. I hope to work with you and Polka Dot Orchard again 😘
